This handmade and hand painted keepsake box comes in two different sizes. 5"x7" and 3"x5.75"
The exterior of the box has a beautiful hand painted abstract form of Riqa Script.' Riqa‘ ” is derived from the Arabic noun, ruq’a, meaning “a patch or piece of cloth.” The script was named thus because it was often written on small pieces of paper to petition royalty.
This script was originally used for writing letters, epics, stories and personal correspondence, official correspondence and documents, and for writing the final colophon of a book, showing the date and place of writing.
The symbol on the from represents an antique tool used for writing, drawing (calligraphic pen), sewing (scissors) and map making (Compass/Protractor).
The outside of the box is finished in pearl ink representing a veil and the inside a pearlescent purple ink.
