Finding the perfect appliances for your Airstream can be overwhelming. There are some many options to choose from. If you are not restoring with the original appliances there are some great options that will fit whatever look you are going for.

This week I thought I would share some options I found on my search for appliances. Hopefully it will help you in your search for the perfect pieces for your Airstream.

Refrigerators

Before you begin your search for any of your Airstream Appliances, you need to decide if you are going to use electric or gas. When it comes to refrigerators, the size will depend on the need and use of the space. Weight may also be something you need to consider, as weight distribution is an important part of the overall design of a road ready Airstream. If it is going to be permanently parked, then weight distribution may be less of an issue.

In keeping with the vintage look, there are some really fun options in both small and full size. These are the vintage options I really liked. Some of them also come is several color options.

Though these vintage options are really cool, I decided I personally needed a fridge with more storage space. So I started to look into more stainless steel options. They are more pricy, but they offered a more functional solution for me. Here are just a few of my favorites from my search.

Cook-tops and Ovens

It took me a long time to decide on the right cooking appliances for my Airstream. This is really where the decision of gas or electric came to into play. In the end, I decided to go with electric. My final selections were a convection microwave and a convection burner that could be stored when it is not in use.

Before I committed to these selections, I was looking at some of these other combinations.

Throughout my search, It really helped me to have a clear understanding of how I planned to use my Airstream, the space considerations, weight, and making the decision to use electric rather than gas. These preferences will really help to narrow down the options. Once you have a couple options, see how they work in the overall design plan. If you are seeking the expertise of an outside source to help you with the build-out, get their input.
I always enjoy hearing about what other people have chosen for their spaces and why they chose them. One of the coolest things about being part of the Airstream community is the willingness of its members to share information. It has been invaluable to me as I have embarked on my own renovation.
